Get in the Christmas spirit by watching these Irish superstars in a Christmas Eve singsong in 2015
Bono, Hozier, Glen Hansard, The Script, The Coronas, and Kodaline were among the artists who performed for free on Grafton Street in Dublin on Christmas Eve 2015.
An annual event started out by Oscar award-winning Glenn Hansard, all proceeds from the massively popular street show went to The Simon Community, a charity combatting homelessness, and the group plan to return this year to raise awareness for Home Sweet Home, an organization fighting on behalf of the homeless on the capital's streets and around the country.
Earlier in 2015, Hansard and Hozier were among the Irish stars to lend their support to Home Sweet Home, another organization working on behalf of the homeless in Ireland, in staging a takeover of a large empty office building owned by NAMA in the city center. Thirty-one homeless families have since moved into the building, an act criticized by the Minister for Housing Simon Coveney.
Speaking on Irish program The Late Late Show, however, Hansard called it an act of "civil disobedience", outlining how the group was acting to show their disgust at the homelessness crisis raging through the country.
