Irish talent was out in force at Monday night's Met Gala in New York City, often called "the fashion Oscars".

The theme for this year's Met Gala, the annual fundraising benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York held this year on May 6, was “The Garden of Time" and celebrates the opening of the Costume Institute’s new exhibition, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”

Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief at "Vogue", famously oversees the exclusive guestlist for the Gala, and this year several Irish stars landed an invite. As well as this, Irish designers dressed many of the A-list celebrities walking the Met carpet, from Sarah Jessica Parker to Ayo Edibiri.

Sarah Jessica Parker supported the Irish at this year's Met Gala. The actress paired her cream embellished dress by designer Richard Quinn with a custom hat by Irish haute couture milliner Philip Treacy, originally from Co Galway.

Parker's love for Ireland is well-known and recently she and her husband, Matthew Broderick, were honored for their "passionate support of Irish arts and culture" at the Ireland Funds annual gala.

Ayo Edibiri, who has joked about being Irish since a viral interview last year, chose a Johnathan Anderson design.

The gown featured hand-painted 3D flowers that cascaded from white at the top to a colorful, multi-colored garden at the bottom. Anderson, a Co Derry native, is an honorary chair of this year's gala.
