President Trump is loathed by the vast majority of celebs in Hollywood and beyond, but Pierce Brosnan seems to be warming up to him a little bit.

The County Meath-born star said as recently as 2018 that he might leave his Malibu home for Ireland because of The Donald’s policies – “That man has torn this country apart,” he opined to the Daily Mail – but Pierce likes how the economy is humming along nicely these days.

“I think what he’s done for the economy is very good,” Brosnan told ITK – not quite sure what that publication is, but the well-respected website The Hill picked up on the interview so it must be legit.

“People are working, and that’s a step in the right direction. This country is part of my life. I’m an American citizen. I love America and America’s been very good to me. And I want to see happiness come back into our society.”

Is Pierce morphing into Trump lover Jon Voight before our eyes?  Hardly.  He’s still got major problems with the president’s handling of climate change for one.

“He has to get out of the coal business, the oil business. It’s just devouring the earth around us. And there are other ways. We’ve seen it from other societies, other cultures,” he said.

Who is Brosnan supporting in 2020?  He didn’t say – “we shall see” was his response – but maybe his slight softening on Trump is an indicator that other stars could be feeling the same way, especially those whose stock market portfolios have never looked better.
