Rory McIlroy has to pay his old management company $25 million

Rory McIlroy has settled his case against his former management company by paying them $25 million.

The world’s best golfer issued a joint statement with, Horizon, his former management team. which stated the dispute “had been settled to the satisfaction of both parties, who wished each other well for the future.”

McIlroy was not present in the Dublin courtroom but had attended on Tuesday.

He had claimed the original deal he signed with Horizon was inferior to that given to ten other top golfers they represented including fellow Irish golfer Graeme McDowell.

Horizon claimed he had breached his contract by leaving them unilaterally and signing illegally with Rory Mcilroy Incorporated, headed by former Horizon executive Donal Casey.

The deal brings an end to a turbulent chapter in the Irish player’s life when his proposed wedding to tennis star Caroline Wozniacki was called off and he fell out with his management company.
