The global philanthropic network, Ireland Funds, will host the New York Children’s Medical Research Foundation Dinner 2019, on Jan 31, in aid of the Children’s Medical Research Foundation and The G-Mac Foundation.
The Ireland Funds gala dinner, the eighth-annual event, will take place at the New York Athletic Club and will include a live auction in aid of two wonderful children’s charities.
Children’s Medical Research Foundation, in Crumlin, Dublin, aims at finding the best care available to sick children. The three mains aims of the charity are to support young lives through critical research and equipment, support small victories through improving everyday life for children living with illness and to improve their quality of life and to create brighter days for the kids and their families.
The G-Mac Foundation’s mission is to support children’s medical research in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and the United States. In addition, the foundation brings groups of recovering children and their families from the island of Ireland to Florida each year for the vacation of a lifetime.
The Ireland Fund’s event’s motto is that “childhood illness takes too much” and therefore they’ll do whatever it takes to combat it. The philanthropic group, with leadership, discovery, and transformation at its core, released a statement on the event which reads:
“Childhood illness in all its forms is persistent, indiscriminate, and often devastating. Quite simply it’s not a fair fight – childhood illness takes too much. Some children will have to fight from their first breath. Others will need medical treatment, hospital stays over the holidays, and surgeries in their first months of life. Some will battle acute illness throughout their childhood. Day after day medical staff does whatever it takes to deliver extraordinary care, transformative treatment, early diagnoses, and cutting-edge technology. They provide support and hope to some of our sickest children and their families. In January 2019, we invite you to join us and celebrate this journey to a better world for pediatric healthcare.”
On January 31 three members of the Ireland Fund community will to honored with the title 2019 Best of Ireland Honoree - Douglas B. Sieg, is a Managing Partner at Lord Abbett, Victoria Smurfit, the Irish award-winning actress, and Marcus O’Sullivan, Head Coach of Men’s Cross Country and Track & Field at Villanova University.
