Internationally renowned speaker and leader Mark Pollock will deliver a keynote at the conference that is not to be missed.
Filmed over 6 years, Unbreakable is an inspirational documentary that tells the story of Pollock, a star athlete who went blind at 22, and then suffered a tragic fall that left him paralyzed from the waist down just weeks before his wedding.
Directed by Ross Whitaker, this fascinating and moving film brings the audience to Mark’s bedside in the ward of a spinal hospital; blind and paralyzed. Whitaker and Pollock formed a close, meaningful relationship through the filming, making for a very intimate documentary and look into Pollock's life.
Unbreakable tells the story of Mark’s eventual rehabilitation his mission to find and connect people worldwide to fast track a cure for paralysis, and is a testament to the power of human relationships.
Whitaker said, "To be given such incredible access to a compelling story is a huge privilege and opportunity as a filmmaker. At times it was heart breaking to be so close to Mark and Simone as they struggled in the wake of Mark's fall.
"In the end though, watching them became an uplifting experience as these amazing people built a new life that will no doubt help many people with spinal cord injuries in the future."
A fundraising sports run called “Run in the dark for Mark” will take place in over 30 cities, on November 12 - click for more information.
