Taking to social media this week, owners Gerry and Phil thanked both their staff and customers for their support over the years as they reflected on their decision to close.

Closing time
"After almost 25 years, the time has come for me to pass the reins of my pride and joy to other hands. We have had the best journey and enjoyed every minute of time with you all.
"To all our loyal customers, you made Leonard’s Corner a very special place and we want to thank each and every one of you, as without you, it wouldn’t have been the same.
"We have to say a massive thank you to our wonderful staff. It has been a huge pleasure to work with you and we wish you all the very best for the future," they said.
The owners added: "We have developed a great relationship, and we are very grateful for all you have done. It hasn’t been an easy decision to move on, but we feel it is the right time. It is now our turn to have our adventures.
"We will always think fondly of our time in Leonard’s Corner with all our wonderful staff and customers. We wish everyone well and again, a big thank you to you all. it is not goodbye, but see you later."
The comments section of the post saw members of the public expressing their sadness at the closure of Leonard’s Corner and reflect on their memories of the pub from over the years.
Dedication
One person said: "Leonard’s Corner was home away from home. Hard work and dedication to your craft deserves a great retirement."
Another added: "Thanks for all the great nights and great toasties, Gerry. Best pub ever. Raging I couldn’t get in for a final pint before the doors closed. Best of luck to you and enjoy everything that is to come."
While someone wrote: "Will never be the same without you Gerry. What a pub, all the great memories I’ve had with friends and family."
News of Leonard’s Corner’s closure arrives in the same month that Dillinger’s Ranelagh and steakhouse Shanahan’s on the Green also went out of business. Sadly, more closures are expected after Christmas.
