Camden Street in Dublin has been included in Time Out’s new list of “The 30 coolest streets in the world.”
Camden Street - which landed in 22nd place, right behind 18th Street in Chicago and right ahead of Foster Street in Sydney - is just "ten minutes' stroll" from Dublin's "tourist-packed centre."
The street on Dublin's south side is praised as a "sprawling neighbourhood that’s retained a no-frills, post-modern grit, despite becoming a hotspot for creative spaces."
Time Out adds: "Mentioned in 'Ulysses,' and around the corner from the ancestral home of George Bernard Shaw, Camden Street is characterised by unpretentious pubs, political street art, and a buzzy dining scene.
"It’s full of surprises, from Ireland’s best Taco Truck Los Chicanos to the secret Cake Café, accessible only by way of high-ceilinged, secondhand book seller The Last Bookshop."
Time Out goes on to share some recommendations for what to eat, drink, and do while on Dublin's Camden Street.
Meet Me In The Morning's sourdough cinnamon buns got a special shout-out, as did Camden Street eateries Mister S, Bunsen, and "Dublin's best Indian" Pickle.
No visit to Dublin is complete without a Guinness, and Time Out recommends The Bleeding Horse for a proper pint. Frank's, Delahunt, and Devitt's also got a nod.
Meanwhile, Yogahub, comedy nights at Anseo, live music in Cassidy's, and DJ sets at Hang Dai mean you'll have no shortage of things on Camden Street.
Not surprisingly, this isn't the first time that Dublin and its streets have gotten warm reviews from Time Out.
In 2022, Dublin's Capel Street was lauded in Time Out's "33 coolest streets in the world" ranking for its "whirl of culture."
The Dublin neighborhoods of Smithfield (2023), Dublin 8 (2022), Phibsboro (2020), and Stoneybatter (2019) have also all been included in Time Out's "40 coolest neighbourhoods in the world" lists over the years.
