Ballybofey, Co. Donegal’s Jason Quigley will continue his pro career with a featured appearance on “Monster Brawl”, a co-promotion between Golden Boy and Ken Casey of the Dropkick Murphys, the third such collaboration in the Boston area.

On October 30 at Memorial Hall in Plymouth, MA, Quigley will open the televised portion of the Fox Sports show. At 2-0 (2 ko’s), Quigley already looks to be a fighter to be taken seriously. The first Irish fighter to win a silver medal at the World Amateur Championships last year, Quigley was recruited by Oscar DeLaHoya’s Golden Boy Promotions and has moved his training operations to Los Angeles to take advantage of the outstanding sparring and world-class trainers in Southern California, as well as the perfect climate.

Quigley looks forward to fighting in front of Boston’s prominent Irish population, and Golden Boy has already been testing the waters with their first 2 co-promotions at the House of Blues, featuring Jamie Kavanagh and the pro debut of John Joe Nevin.

Plymouth’s Memorial Hall, according to Casey, could easily have been designed for boxing. Featuring 2 sets of raised seating, there is not a bad seat in the house, even the general admission seats overlook the ring. Parking is easy, and downtown Plymouth and the Waterfront boats over 40 restaurants and pubs, making it a popular tourist destination, only 40 minutes out of Boston.

The main event for the night will be a 10-round welterweight bout pitting former US Olympic Team member Danny O’Connor of Framingham (23-2) against the tough and determined Andrew Farmer (18-2). O’Connor is returning after a year’s absence due to an elbow injury, and is looking forward to fighting in front of his enthusiastic home-town fans.

Speaking of welterweights, Dorchester favorite Michael Owen McLaughlin, also of Co. Donegal, will step up and face New England Welterweight champ Derek Silveira of Salem, MA who have O’Connor all he could handle last year, losing a split decision at the Boston Garden. With respective records of 10-1 against 8-1-1, it looks to be a fantastic, evenly matched fight.

Also appearing will be the popular middleweight prospect Mark “The Italian Bazooka” DeLuca, 11-0, stepping up his competition against St. Louis’ Ryan Davis, 24-14-3 and Brockton’s undefeated heavyweight Julian Pollard as well as Hyannis light-heavyweight Paul Gonzalves.

Doors scheduled to open at 6pm, first bout to begin at 6:45. General Admission only $45, Mezzanine $65, floor $80, ringside $100.
