The ingenious idea of an Irish pub in our very own mansion makes Peace Harbor the ideal new dream home
Ever been dying to visit an Irish pub but the very thought of leaving the house and entering into the cold, wet Irish weather put you off? The owners of the house that most definitely must win the title of “Dream Home 2017” knew of your struggles and they’ve come up with the best solution imaginable: find a way for you to remain at home but still manage to pop down to the pub for a quick pint … because you won’t be leaving your home at all.
Kevin O’Sullivan’s Irish pub is just one of the incredible features of Peace Harbor, a mind-blowing mansion located on West Lake Okoboji, Iowa, which is currently on the market for $12.8 million, making it the most expensive home up for the sale in the state.
Just imagine! No concerns about how you’re going to get home, no worries about whether your mates are going to be late and leave you sitting at the bar on your own, no battling it out through the crowds to get the barman’s attention, and no putting up with the lengthy yarn of the loud man who's had one too many and wants the world to know his story.
Yes, safe and sound from the comfort of your own home, you and your friends and family can feel all the benefits of a great Irish pub without the (very few) downsides that sometimes come with it.
And Kevin O’Sullivan’s Irish pub, created after the original owners took a journey to Ireland, isn’t just a little bar located within this epic home. As well as having its own front shop face and entrance completely decked out like something you’d find on the streets of any Irish town, the home-based Irish pub has a full wood-paneled bar, wooden bar stools, and basically a more authentic look and feel than some Irish American bars we’ve visited.
While there are some other unusual additions to O’Sullivan’s that you wouldn’t normally expect to see – such as an oven situated beside a living room area with TV – we can definitely get on board with having a comfy spot in the bar where we can sit down and enjoy the Gaelic Football and Hurling on TV while getting in a game of pool at half-time.

The Irish pub even includes its own stage with tables and the custom small-tiled dancing area where big wins can be celebrated properly.
Elsewhere in the 24,000 square foot house you’ll find nine bedrooms, 16 bathrooms, six fireplaces and enough space to park 10 vehicles as well as a fitness area, art gallery, conference room, conversation area and an absolutely gigantic gathering room, all kitted out with a nautical theme brought to life with blue Brazilian marble throughout the property.
This one-of-a-kind house has been on the market for over a year but has failed to sell, not due to a lack of amazement from those who have viewed it, we’re sure.
