Going home for Christmas in Ireland means plenty of special family reunions in Dublin airport.
With Irish people far-flung across every corner of this world, there are plenty of Mammies, Daddies, brothers, sisters, and extended family anxiously awaiting the touchdown of a loved one this December.
The sheer numbers of Irish people living abroad means that every single year, the arrivals area in Irish airports are swamped with delighted family members donning Santa hats and holding up festive signs to celebrate the return of a traveler or of an emigrant.
In 2016, IrishCentral took a trip down to Dublin Airport to witness for ourselves the pure joy of welcoming back those from overseas who get their own trip back home for the holidays.
This adorable video even features a baby meeting his Irish family for the first time, as his family allowed us to witness his Mam bringing him to meet his Granny and give her his first hug.
We hope that wherever you're spending the holidays this year, you're spending it with those you love!
Are you waiting for someone special to travel home this Christmas? Share this video with them to remind them how excited you are!
