Young Donegal girl Sophie Callaghan was on holiday aboard the Sun Princess cruise by Princess Cruises with her family but forgot to bring home her beloved teddy Rabbie — only realizing she left the poor rabbit behind when her family got home.
Thankfully, the crew aboard the cruise managed to find Rabbie — with Staff Captain Brian Whelan heading up to Donegal from the seas to reunite Rabbie and Sophie in Donegal.
Joking that Rabbie wasn’t wearing the medallion that guests can wear to locate each other, Brian got adorable photos of Rabbie’s adventures on the ship, including him "assisting" with navigational duties and helping the crew.
Following Rabbie’s adventure, Brian was able to reunite Sophie and her beloved teddy in Donegal.
"It was a real joy to make that trip to Donegal," Brian said.
"Seeing Sophie’s face light up when she saw Rabbie again was worth every mile."
"It’s always lovely to meet fellow Irish people on the ships I work on," he told RSVP.
"It brings a sense of home to me when I’m away."
