What is Ireland’s favorite funeral song?

Irish people have voted for their preferred song for a send-off.

"Time To Say Goodbye" by Andrea Bocelli was declared as the most favored funeral song in a study in 2018.

AA Life Insurance revealed the song as number one after surveying some 4,319 people.

Other top songs most likely to be played at an Irish funeral include "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong and "The Lord's My Shepherd".

The iconic hit "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" from Monty Python's Life of Brian, "Over the Rainbow" by Eva Cassidy, Frank Sinatra's "My Way", and "Angels" by Robbie Williams all received several nods, too.

Naturally, the Irish can even find humor in the most tragic situations. The "Countdown" theme song was the tune of choice for 2.83% of participants burying their loved ones.

Barry Aldworth of the insurance firm said people need a plan in place.

He said, "The best piece of advice is to get some kind of cover in place early and don't avoid these discussions.

"They are not a pleasant topic but they are important to have.

"It is only through these discussions you will be able to make sure that you or your spouse are financially protected."
