U2 has been included in soccer legend Lionel Messi's "Warm-Up Playlist" for Apple Music (but The Wolfe Tones haven't).

The Irish band's hit song "Vertigo" is in great company on the playlist which also features music from Rihanna, Coldplay, and AC/DC.

"For as long as I can remember, music has played an important part in my life, especially on matchday," Messi told Apple Music when sharing his warm-up playlist.

"Music quiets my mind, helps me stay calm and relaxed."

However, it appears one fan felt Messi's playlist could have used a little bit more of an Irish influence.

On February 21, the day after Messi's playlist was released, Ireland-based X user @JBCelt91 shared a doctored image of the playlist to include "The Foggy Dew" by The Wolfe Tones:

At the time of publication on Thursday, the post had been viewed more than 311k times, with several people quoting the original post, sharing their surprise (and delight) that Messi is a fan of Irish rebel band The Wolfe Tones.

Even The Wolfe Tones themselves got in on the fun, resharing the post and claiming that Messi "loves the gigs as well."

Even more people reshared the post from The Wolfe Tones, begging the question if everyone is on the joke or not.
