Supermac's is teasing a tasty gift for Galway GAA fans in New York this weekend ahead of the Connacht Senior Football Championship quarter-final.

"You might be 3,000 miles from Eyre Square, but this Saturday you could be dipping chips like you never left," Supermac's said in a social media blast on Wednesday, April 2.

"To all the Supermac's fans in NYC, meet us in Times Square at 16:00 [4 pm] on Saturday April 5th – wear your Galway Supermac’s jersey, and we’ll hand you a free Supermac’s garlic dip. That’s the deal."

Supermac's, who are the longtime sponsors of Galway GAA, added: "And no, this isn’t an April Fools, this one’s real. See you there."

The garlic dip giveaway was announced not long after Supermac's put out a call to Galway GAA fans around the world to submit photos that will be displayed on a billboard in the iconic Times Square over the weekend.

The Galway gathering in Times Square comes as The Tribesmen head stateside for their Connacht Senior Football Championship quarter-final against New York on Sunday, April 6 in Gaelic Park in The Bronx.

Galway will take the pitch on Sunday as the reigning Connacht GAA champions and the runners-up in the 2024 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship. New York, meanwhile, will be looking to repeat its historic 2023 win over Leitrim.

The Connacht GAA Senior Football Championship quarter-final match is typically a huge weekend for the Irish community in New York, as well as for fans in Ireland, many of whom fly over for the occasion. While Gaelic Park itself is usually standing room only for the match, the nearby Irish / Irish American neighborhoods of Woodlawn and Yonkers are abuzz with excitement for the weekend

New York GAA initially said "tickets must be purchased in advance via Ticketmaster, and will not be available for purchase at the Gate" for Sunday's match, but it has since announced that if any tickets are still available, they will be on sale at Gaelic Park on Friday, April 4 from 5:30 pm.

New York GAA is adamant that no tickets will be sold at the gate on Sunday.

Also on Friday evening, both the New York and Galway panels will be in Gaelic Park for a meet and greet - Galway from 5:30 to 6 pm, followed by New York from 6:30 - 7 pm.

Players will be available for autographs and pictures, New York GAA said.
