Jockeys and horses in a race at Dundalk track on Friday night got a rare shock a furlong from home.
That’s when two rabbits mating were discovered almost directly in the path of the oncoming charging field.
The two rabbits quickly ceased their activities and ran for their lives narrowly avoiding death or injury.
If you go to four minutes into the video you will see the incident, both from the side and head on.

The rabbits can be seen escaping from their near brush with injury or death running for the infield grass.
It is doubtful that Dundalk, some 50 miles north of Dublin had ever seen such an incident, or any racetrack indeed. Hair raising!
