Chances are you've never found yourself wondering which of Ireland’s counties is the lustiest. But if you ever have, you’ll be happy to know there is now a definitive answer.

And it probably isn’t what you’d expect.

Irish dating website Elite Singles conducted a survey of its 30,000 users in order to determine which county is the most amorous.

Users were simply asked to rank the statement “I have a strong desire for sex” on a scale of one to five.

So which county had the greatest abundance of fives?

Waterford.

And which counties ranked close behind?

Wicklow and Dublin. There definitely seems to be an east coast of Ireland slant to the results.

Rounding out the top 10 were Kildare, Cork, Tipperary, Leitrim, Meath, Wexford and Galway.
