“Florida Project” star’s reaction to Seth Meyer’s comments on sexual harassment became instant Internet gold
An amazing shot of a wide-eyed Willem Dafoe, taken at the Golden Globes, on Sunday evening, was an instant meme. While the veteran star might not have won a gong for his performance in “The Florida Project” he has achieved top honors by going viral this week.
Dafoe, who was nominated for a Golden Globe was snapped, drinking Moet & Chandon while having quite an animated reaction to Seth Meyer’s characteristically scathing opening monologue.
To go straight to Dafoe's amazing reaction go to 1 minute 10 seconds:
Meyers said, “For the male nominees in the room tonight, this is the first time in three months it won’t be terrifying to hear your name read out loud.”
The Saturday Night Live star then feigned a conversation between two people: “‘Did you hear about Willem Dafoe?’ ‘Oh, God, no!’ ‘He was nominated.’ ‘Don’t do that! Don’t do that.'”
It was then that Dafoe, who has Scottish and Irish roots, made THAT face… a mixture of intense anxiety and then laughter.
Who could blame the Internet for falling in love with it?! Here’s just a selection of the best #WillemDafoe memes:
