The promotional machine is on at the Dolores O'Riordan camp. The Cranberries lead songstress has launched a website and has announced a tour of the eastern seaboard to support the release of her first solo CD, "Are You Listening?" On the site, she discusses the inspiration behind the leadoff single, "Ordinary Day." "I took four years off after we were finished with the last Cranberries tour, and I had a new baby girl and an older one to take care of," she recalls. "I was in a position where I had my feet on the ground for the first time since we started the Cranberries in the early 1990s. The song on one hand is reflecting on the children's naiveté, which is something that they don't have for very long. "It's so different now with the Internet and it is difficult to keep and protect kids nowadays. It is a song to relax and enjoy the moments. It is a song about sitting back and enjoying the moment." Tickets go on sale this week for the "Are You Listening?" tour. Dolores will be playing in Irving Plaza in New York on July 10. Other dates include Boston (Avalon, on July 9), Washington, D.C. (9:30 Club), and July 13 in Philadelphia at TLA.
