Sharon Horgan, the creator and one of the stars of the Emmy-nominated Apple TV+ series “Bad Sisters,” has nothing but kind words to say about the “coven” of actresses who join her to play the Garvey sisters.
Horgan, who was raised in Co Meath, recently chatted with Vanity Fair ahead of the second season premiere on November 13.
The writer, producer, and star of the show recalled a particularly sweet moment with director and executive producer Dearbhla Walsh while filming the new season in Ireland.
“When we were shooting the wedding, there was pissing rain,” Horgan told Vanity Fair.
“She felt like she had to give us all this sort of pep talk about why the weather wasn’t important, that we all had each other, and how lucky we were to find each other.
“And we feel like that a lot—that we were really lucky to find each other and get to do this thing.
“I’m just mad about them! I genuinely miss them when I’m not with them.”
Horgan was speaking as Apple TV+ shared more 'first looks' from the highly-anticipated second season.
In a synopsis, Apple TV+ says the new season of "Bad Sisters" picks up two years after the "accidental death" of Grace's abusive husband, who is known as "The Prick."
"The close-knit Garvey sisters may have moved on, but when past truths resurface, the ladies are thrust back into the spotlight, suspicions are at an all-time high, lies are told, secrets revealed and the sisters are forced to work out who they can trust," Apple TV+ says.
The original cast of actors playing the Garvey sisters return for the new season - Horgan as Eva, Anne-Marie Duff as Grace, Eva Birthistle as Ursula, Sarah Greene as Bibi, and Eve Hewson as Becka.
Season two of "Bad Sisters" also welcomes new and returning cast, including Fiona Shaw, Owen McDonnell, Thaddea Graham, Barry Ward, Michael Smiley, Saise Quinn, Daryl McCormack, Yasmine Akram, Jonjo O’Neill, Peter Claffey, Deirdre Mullins, Lorcan Cranitch, Liz Fitzgibbon, and Justine Mitchell.
The eight-episode second season of “Bad Sisters” will make its global debut on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, followed by one episode weekly, every Wednesday through December 25.
