Irish actors Nicola Coughlan and Lola Petticrew have both landed their first BAFTA Television nominations, which were announced today, Thursday, March 27.
Galway native Coughlan has been nominated in the Female Performance In A Comedy category for her role in "Big Mood," while native Petticrew has been nominated in the Leading Actress category for her role in "Say Nothing."
While Coughlan's nomination for "Big Mood" was the only shout the series picked up, the Irish actor is also featured in the Memorable Moment Award category for "'THE' carriage scene where Colin admits his true feelings for Penelope [Coughlan]" in "Bridgerton." This category is voted on by the public.
On Instagram on Thursday, Coughlan, who enjoyed a breakout role on "Derry Girls," said she was "overwhelmed and excited and emotional" to have been nominated.

Petticrew had similar sentiments on Thursday, taking to Instagram to thank BAFTA for the "huge huge honour."
She wrote: "I’m so endlessly proud of this show and everyone involved.
4 nominations for the show!! including the incredible [Maxine Peake] who I’ve looked up to since I was a nipper and got to share this part with.
"Dreamy. GRMA X."
Besides Petticrew's nomination, "Say Nothing" got shouts in the International, Supporting Actress (Maxine Peake), and Photography and Lighting: Fiction categories.
Cork native Graham Norton has also been nominated in the Entertainment Performance category for his talk show, "The Graham Norton Show." He's won seven of his 18 BAFTA nominations over the years.
Meanwhile, "Blue Lights" has been nominated in the Drama category. Set in Belfast, the PSNI series is written by Irish duo Declan Lawn and Adam Patterson.
The BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises will be hosted by Alan Cumming and will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Sunday, May 11.
