While Sydney Sweeney topped the list for IMDb's Most Popular Star and Glen Powell was named the Breakout Star of 2024 three much-loved Irish stars were ranked in the top ten.
IMDb, with over 250 million visitors, is the world's most popular source for information on movies, TV shows and celebrities. To wrap up 2024 they released their annual rankings using data from IMDbPro MOVIEmeter and STARmeter
rankings.
Irish stars Barry Keoghan, Nicola Coughlan and Eve Hewson were ranked sixth, seventh and eighth (respectively) in the Most Popular Stars of 2024 listing. "Derry Girl" star and soon a "Doctor Who" sidekick, Nicola Coughlan also ranked in second place on the Most Popular Breakout Stars.

Dublin star, Keoghan has had an incredible couple of years. From his Oscar nomination in 2023 for "Banshees of Inisheerin" to going viral for "that scene" in the Netflix hit "Saltburn", Keoghan has clearly become a huge Hollywood commodity.
In 2024, he wowed with his roles in the moving "Bird" and thriller "Bring Them Down" as well as music videos for Sabrina Carpenter and Fontaines D.C. We can see why he made it to this list.
Right now he's confirmed to be starring in the upcoming "Peaky Blinders" movie while there are rumors that he's been cast as Ringo Starr in the upcoming Beatles movie.

From making us laugh in "The Derry Girls" to the steamy scenes of "Bridgerton", Nicola Coughlan is fast becoming an Irish icon! She's even starring in this Christmas' "Doctor Who" special.
In 2024 she starred in the British dramedy "Big Mood" and another British comedy "Seize Them". In 2025 the Galway star will be back on our screens as Penelope Featherington in "Bridgerton".

No one's Nepo Baby! Eve Hewson has become a huge hit over the past decade since her role in the gripping period thriller series "The Knick" starring Clive Owen.
Of course, Hewson is one of the "Bad Sisters" from Sharon Horgan's hit which just released its second series. She was also the star of the hugely acclaimed "Flora and Son" in 2023.
Looking ahead IMBb reports that Hewson will star in an upcoming untitled Noah Baumbach movie, the period drama TV series "Downforce" and in 2026 an Untitled Steven Spielberg´s Event Film".
We can't wait to see what comes next for all three Irish stars.
