IRISH Prime Minister Bertie Ahern added another very impressive title to his name last week first time grandpa, as his eldest daughter Georgina gave birth to preemie boy twins in Dublin.

Georgina and her musician hubby Nicky Byrne, he of the band Westlife, welcomed their fraternal twins last Friday at Holles Street Hospital. The little ones arrived way ahead of their June/July due date, and had to be delivered by c-section when Georgina went into labor early.

Happily they're doing great, and weighed in at just over three pounds each. They'll remain in the hospital a while longer, however, as a precautionary measure.

Their names? Georgina and Nicky eschewed traditional Gaelic names for untraditional celebrity ones - Rocco and Jay. The world will soon get a glimpse of them, a spokesperson for the couple says, and they won't have to fork out money to buy a celebrity magazine in the process.

"They are not interested in selling the pictures because, unlike their wedding, they feel this involves not just them, but other lives. They have not had offers, because they said they would not sell the pictures, but they had inquiries," said spokesperson Joanne Byrne.

The couple got a rough ride over flogging pictures of their nuptials in 2003 to Hello! magazine for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Bertie himself was barred from posing for any snaps that weren't approved by the magazine, which he also received plenty of guff for at home.

With an election looming in Ireland, and the propensity of politicians to kiss babies on the campaign trail, lucky Bertie now has his very own little mascots who will undoubtedly garner lots of "oohs" and "aahs" from the electorate.
