Bono's bad back cost U2's insurance company $17 million
Fans of Irish rock gods U2 were obviously disappointed when Bono's back gave out on him and he was forced to cancel the great majority of the bands North American tour.
But U2 fans' disappointment is nothing compared to that of Brokers Robertson Taylor, who are settling the bill for the cancelled shows to the tune of seventeen million dollars. Ouch, that's got to hurt!
While paying out for just this kind of unforeseen complication is the reason insurance companies exist, it's still a huge hit to their books.
U2 have rescheduled their postponed US dates for next spring and summer. The band return to the road in Europe next month.
