In case you missed the memo, Amazon Studios are working on a "Spider-Man: Noir" series, which will be based around Nicolas Cage's character in the "Spider-Verse Saga."

While Nicholas Cage indicated in a recent interview with the New Yorker that talks were still taking place, it seems like it's all systems go as our very own Brendan Gleeson has reportedly joined the cast.

The news broke on Variety who had his casting confirmed by multiple sources, but when they approached Amazon Studios, they declined to comment.

This won't be the Irish Academy Award nominee's first foray into a comic-based project with Gleeson set to appear as an Arkham Asylum guard in “Joker: Folie à Deux" which is slated for release in October 2024.

While it's unclear who the 69-year-old will be playing, it's suspected he'll be portraying the villain of the series. He joins the previously announced cast members Lamorne Morris and leading the series is Nicolas Cage.

The series logline says: "Spider-Noir tells the story of an aging and down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero."

When speaking to the New Yorker, Cage teased the show by explaining what people can expect from it, but at the time, it wasn't clear if he was 100% on board or not.

He said: "If I do this show, that’s something different. It’s more of a Pop-art mashup, like a Lichtenstein painting, where I want to do something that has some sparkle to it. It’s fun to look at. It won’t be 'Pig'; it won’t be 'Dream Scenario.' But how many of those can you find? I’m just lucky that I found them in my late fifties.

"I don’t like violence. I don’t want to play people who are hurting people. One of the things that I like about this potential show is that it’s fantasy. It’s not really people beating people up. Monsters are involved."
