Britney Spears is letting all her skeletons out of her closet in her new memoir, "The Woman in Me", including the fact that she had a brief fling with Dublin's own Colin Farrell in the early 2000s after her breakup with Justin Timberlake.

Britney Spears' memoir is finally being released on Oct 24, four months after Colin Farrell and Justin Timberlake's legal teams slowed things down. In an extract from Spears' memoir "The Woman in Me," the pop star spills all.

Spears revealed that she met Colin Farrell while he was filming the movie "S.W.A.T" following her painful breakup with Justin Timberlake. She wrote that Timberlake had been with "six or seven girls" in the weeks after they broke up. The pop star wrote that she was hugely upset by the relationship's demise.

In an extract of the memoir to be released on Oct 24, seen by reports at TIME, she wrote “He was a girl’s dream. I was in love with him.”

In an effort to move on Spears decided to start dating and was set up with Colin Farrell through a "club promoter friend". She visited him several times on set and they had what she described as "a two-week brawl".

She continued “Brawl is the only word for it—we were all over each other, grappling so passionately it was like we were in a street fight."

In 2003 they attended the premiere of Farrell's movie "The Recruit". Spears recalled that at the time she was not fully over Timberlake.

She wrote, "As I had before when I’d felt too attached to a man, I tried to convince myself in every way that it was not a big deal, that we were just having fun, that in this case, I was vulnerable because I wasn’t over Justin yet.”

It was at "The Recruit" premiere that Farrell told the press their relationship was casual. Farrell said  "We’re not dating. She’s a sweet, sweet girl. There’s nothing going on—just mates.”

Entertainment Weekly reported that Spears left the event “as soon as the paparazzi were gone.”

Later in 2003 Spears addressed their relationship.

She said “Yes, I kissed him... He's the cutest, hottest thing in the world—wooh!... But it was nothing serious."

In her new memoir, she does not detail the end of the relationship, she just wrote “For a brief moment in time, I did think there could be something there. The disappointments in my romantic life were just one part of how isolated I became. I felt so awkward all the time.”

Earlier this year it was reported that Colin Farrell and Justin Timberlake's lawyers had demanded that they get approval of the memoir before its release which led to a delay in publication of four months.
