Last week it was announced that Byrne will play the lead role in a New York Philharmonic concert performance of Camelot at Lincoln Center from May 7-10. The show on May 8 will be broadcast nationwide on PBS as part of its Live at Lincoln Center series.

Byrne will of course play King Arthur. His Guenevere will be played by Broadway veteran Marin Mazzie. In total there will be five performances over the three day period. Visit www.nyphilharmonic.org for more info.

Byrne isn't the only Irish thespian who's hooking up with Lincoln Center in the upcoming months. Liam Neeson will take part in a tribute to Irish playwright Samuel Beckett during the Lincoln Center Festival 08 in July.

The short works will be performed under the auspices of Dublin's Gate Theatre, and Ralph Fiennes has also signed up to star.

Under the title of "Gate/Beckett," the pieces will be performed at various times July 16-July 27.

Neeson will star in Beckett's Eh Joe. "Joe sits alone in a room, prodded into uncomfortable thought by Penelope Wilton's disembodied voice. A projected close-up of his face is all the tortured expression the audience needs to understand the pain of a memory explored," according to Lincoln Center.
