IT is worth another mention that two of Ireland's finest young musicians, Oisin Mac Diarmada and Louise Mulcahy, will be appearing as a tandem act this coming weekend on a brief two-stop tour. Both are All-Ireland champions, with Oisin winning the fiddle championship and Louise on flute and whistle. I believe she was the first woman to win the senior All-Ireland uilleann piping competition.

Oisin is most familiar to Irish American audiences as the leader of the dynamic trad band Teada that tours regularly from coast to coast, but he is also a much sought after teacher and scholar of Irish music. He is currently doing post-graduate work at the Dundalk Institute of Technology.

Louise performs with her father Mick and sister Michelle, also a multi-instrumental All-Ireland winner, as the Mulcahy Family, who were most recently seen over here at the Catskills Irish Arts Week in the thick of much of the week long activity.

This is a rare opportunity to catch them in intimate settings like the Blarney Star Concert Series at Glucksman Ireland House on Friday, November 2, at 9 p.m. (www.blarneystar.com or 212-998-3950) or the following night at the Katherine Cornell Theater on Martha's Vineyard in Mass-achusetts at 8 p.m. (www.kctconcerts.com or 508-693-3896).
