The Meath native is playing Addam of Hull in the hit series and he seems just as excited to be in the show as we are to see him in it.

Speaking to FM104's Crossy about his role in the show on the red carpet, he said: "You know what I’m really happy about? Being Irish, and being in 'House of the Dragon'.

"I literally remember watching the first season and I was like, “What are the chances of some Irish being in that?” [laughs] I’m just buzzing and I’m so happy.

"But honestly I’m so grateful to be a part [the show] because everyone, as you can see, they’re so lovely.

"They’re so welcoming, especially to be a newcomer in such a juggernaut of a show. It’s like beyond my wildest dreams and honestly, from the bottom of my heart, I’m just so grateful."

He also tried to bring a sense of Irishness to the set, sharing that he tried to bring in some GAA footballs to play with behind the scenes and "have a little boogie".

Clinton grew up in Laytown, in County Meath and received a BA in Acting from the Lir Academy at Trinity College in Dublin, in 2019.

His characters Addam and brother Alyn have a bigger role to play in "House of the Dragon" than fans might think right now.

In episode two, there’s a scene where Addam is on the beach in Driftmark as a dragon, likely Rhaenyra’s husband Laenor’s dragon Seasmoke, flies overhead, giving us a sense of foreshadowing to his future.

All we can say is, watch this space.
