The Busk is back! The beloved Christmas Eve tradition will take place from 5 pm today, December 24, outside the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin City Centre.

Organizers say to expect an incredible lineup of talented musicians and surprise guests, all lending their voices to a cause that matters, the Dublin Simon Community, which works to prevent and address homelessness.

For those living overseas or those who would love to make it but can't, you can still stream the Busk at 8 pm (Irish time) on Sunday, December 24 from the comfort of your own home at dubsimon.ie/the-busk-stream/.

Viewers are encouraged to donate to Dublin Simon Community, which can be done online here.

The Dublin Simon Christmas Eve Busk is now a bona fide Christmas Eve tradition, where well-known artists gather to perform together to raise funds for people who are homeless.

You never know who might show up on stage at the Dublin Simon Busk – at previous events, the audience has enjoyed performances by global and local superstars alike, including Glen Hansard, Imelda May, Bono, Dermot Kennedy, Hozier, and Gavin James

Dublin Simon Community says that thanks to the success of its streamed Busk events during the pandemic, it will continue to offer the option to join the busk virtually.

The special Christmas Eve busk events were livestreamed in both 2020 and 2021.

Dublin Simon says that this year, it urgently needs funds more than ever as the number of people in emergency accommodation and sleeping rough around Dublin continues to rise. While the artists entertain the public, the Dublin Simon frontline teams will be working hard to support people who are homeless at Christmas time. Its Outreach and Supported Housing teams work 365 days a year delivering services to the vulnerable homeless population.

Artists performing at the busk have requested that people attending, or enjoying it at home through the stream, make a donation to Dublin Simon to support this essential frontline work.
