FOR any Irish music fan in the know, Connolly's has always been a great place to see a show. As you may have read within the pages of the Irish Voice recently, the venue has invested in a killer sound system to make sure the fiddling can be heard for many a city block. The renovated concert room is called Klub 45 (121 West 45th Street in New York), and Connolly's will be celebrating the official opening of Klub 45 on Thursday, September 20 with the Manhattan launch of CelticLounge.com.

Everyone who is anyone will be there to cheer on Enter the Haggis, the Canadian powerhouse, as they make a rare Manhattan appearance. ETH has a huge rabid fan base garnered through incessant touring. They have released six CDs including last year's critically acclaimed and best selling, Soapbox Heroes.

Their newest is an excellent live album, Northampton. Anybody who has seen this band knows that a live album is no substitute for seeing them live, so here is your chance!

ETH will share the stage with Black 47, who will be resuming their fall residence every Saturday on that same stage. Seamus Kelleher of Blackthorn and some surprise guests will be popping in as well.

This will be a free show with complimentary drink specials and hors d'oeuvres provided by Connolly's, with t-shirts and CD gift packs by Celticlounge.com while supplies last. ETH's record company will also be on hand to give a few lucky fans copies of Northampton.

Klub 45 is on the third floor of Connolly's. The bash begins at 6:30 p.m. and ends God knows when. See you there!
