NOW you can call him Lord of the Dads - Michael Flatley's wife Niamh gave birth to the couple's first child, a boy they've named Michael St. James Flatley, last Thursday in Cork.

The little fella made his debut just after noon that day, weighing in at 8 pounds and an ounce. Niamh went into labor the previous Wednesday evening, and after a Caesarean birth baby Michael made his entrance, two days after he was due.

Naturally, the new parents couldn't be more pleased. "I have waited for this day for my whole life and I can only describe the experience as incredible. It is an absolutely fantastic feeling," Michael told the Irish Independent.

The superstar dancer never left Niamh's side, and once little Michael indicated he wanted out,

and drove the missus to Cork University Maternity Hospital himself. Naturally, they were awaiting the birth in the luxurious surroundings of Michael's Castlehyde mansion in Fermoy, about 20 miles from Cork City.

"I've wanted to be a father for so long and now Niamh and I have been blessed with the greatest gift possible," Michael said.

So what's with the name? Michael was a given - after all, MF's Sligo-born dad is named Michael. St. James is a combination of Grandpa Flatley's middle name, and the name of the Barbados parish where Michael popped the question to Niamh last year.

"Every time I look at him which is a lot I'm still in awe of the miracle of this little baby. My heart is literally bursting with joy," the new dad says.

When will the world see Michael St. James? Hello! magazine has the exclusive on the first baby portrait, as Michael and Niamh inked a deal a while back, with all proceeds going to the Cork hospital where the child came into the world.

How will Michael St. James make his way in the world? Anyway he wants we're sure, but his genes must be tapping given that Dad is one of the world's most famous dancers, and Mom has performed right alongside of him for years in his signature Lord of the Dance.

A big congrats to all the Flatleys - hopefully it won't be long before Michael brings his son back to his original American stomping grounds!
