But who exactly is Mr. Delicious?

Who is Garron Noone and how do I know him?

Garron is a 30-year-old social media star who has amassed more than 2 million followers across his online platforms.

The Mayo man’s content ranges from everything to demonstrating how to make the perfect cup of tea and ranking classic Irish foods such as ice-creams and crisps to reacting to current news headlines and memes.

His iconic tagline, which he says in every video, is: "Follow me; I’m delicious."

In 2023, social media giant TikTok named him as one of their breakthrough creators of the year in Ireland.

Is he a musician as well?

As well as a comedic content creator, Garron is a singer and guitarist and started off by sharing music online with the occasional insight into his thoughts. Friends advised him to try his hand at TikTok, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Garron’s musical inspirations come from his parents, with his mam a guitarist herself, and his father having been part of an Elvis tribute band.

The 30-year-old frequently tours around Ireland putting on shows which include a combination of his music and comedy.

Family life

Garron was born in Dublin but made the move back to Mayo at a young age to be closer to his mum’s family. His father died of a drug overdose when he was just three years old.

He has three younger siblings, who lived with their father. Speaking to the Irish Times recently, Garron admitted he was around eight or nine when he realised his siblings’ father was not his dad. He told the publication: "I thought my brothers and sisters’ dad was my dad."

Appearing on the first episode of the new season of presenter Doireann Garrihy’s "The Laughs of Your Life," he revealed he also has two half-sisters, who he has yet to meet.

He said: ‘I have two older sisters who I’ve never met but I am in contact with them. One of them like two weeks ago and the other other one probably ten years.

"I’m meaning to go over and see her but it just hasn’t taken place yet."

Agoraphobia

Garron has been very open about his battle with agoraphobia during his teenage years. The condition resulted in him dropping out of school at 15 years old and being fully housebound for three years.

Speaking previously to The Farmer’s Journal, the social media star said he would have panic attacks whenever he left his home and dealt with it via exposure therapy.

At 21 years old, Garron returned to education and got his Leaving Certificate.

@rteradio1 “I couldn’t really leave my house for four or five years” @Garron Noone has become one of Ireland’s best known personalities on social media, but before internet stardom Garron struggled with agoraphobia which even led to him leaving school early. Agoraphobia is a type of anxiety disorder where someone may be afraid to leave environments they know or consider to be safe. In severe cases, a person with agoraphobia considers their home to be the only safe environment. Garron joined the #raydarcyshow ♬ original sound - rteradio1

So what’s his podcast all about?

Friday, October 4 marks the release of the first episode of Garron’s new podcast, "Listen, I’m Delicious," which is in collaboration with Headstuff.

Each week, the podcast will see Garron’s ‘trademark hot takes’ on worldly current affairs and what has caught his attention throughout the week. The Mayo man will then welcome a guest onto the episode where they will "dive deep into conversations about life, food, and some seriously tantalizing topics."

Why is Garron on tonight’s Late Late?

Garron will appear on RTÉ One’s Late Late Country Music Special on Friday alongside X Factor star Janet Devlin, Margo and Mike Denver. The group will play the game of Wild West Roulette.

Also on the show is father-daughter duo Jimmy and Claudia Buckley, who will perform a duet and a tribute will be paid to late country superstar Kris Kristofferson, who died earlier this week.

Queens of country Philomena Begley, Susan McCann and Margo will join Patrick on the couch, while Derek Ryan and the Kilfenora Céilí Band will also play.
