CONGRATS to the Hanafin Cooley Branch of CCE in Boston which mounted a marvelous night this past Sunday in Norwood at Concannon's Village to honor two local Galwegian leaders in Larry Reynolds and Mike O'Connor.

A packed house of over 300 turned out to recognize the work of musician Reynolds, the Comhaltas stalwart in Beantown and O'Connor, the president of the Irish Cultural Center of New England, based in Canton, Massachusetts, who were presented with personal paintings by the Galway artist Vincent Crotty.

In fact the front doorway to Concannon's was adorned with Crotty's commissioned artwork of an Irish dance hall scene for the ICCNE this summer, which also symbolized the festive atmosphere and intense Irish pride and hospitality when the Boston Irish get together in a place like this.

Boston Comhaltas musicians played for dancing on the marvelous floor that also accommodated the well-schooled Liam Harney dancers taught by Liam and Sally Harney.

It was all for a good cause in keeping the Comhaltas radio show hosted by Larry and Sean Reynolds (www.wntn.com) airing every Saturday from noon to 1:30 p.m. for fans of the pure drop in the Boston area.
