A new Irish music video ‘Home to Ireland’ has been filmed recently in New York City and Ireland by aspiring Co. Meath born filmmaker Eamonn Norris.
The video for the song ‘Home to Ireland’ by Brendan & the Blacksticks tells the story of a man living abroad who decides to make the journey back to Irish shores.
“The song immediately struck a chord with me as I am living in New York City and find myself thinking of home sometimes. I got in touch with the song writer Brendan Kelly and we discussed the idea for a music video,” says director Eamonn Norris.
Filming took place at iconic locations around New York including Times Square and Downtown. Well known locations in Co. Meath and Co. Dublin also feature. The band themselves appear in Berminghams Bar on Ludlow Street, Navan, Co. Meath.
“Filming in New York City is always an amazing experience, there is such an abundance of energy here. I hope to film as many projects as I can in the city over the coming months, maybe even some more music videos,” says Norris.
Norris who recently shadow directed on the hit CBS show Blue Bloods is currently working on the YouTube series ‘Epic Dublin’.
The series consists of 2-3 minute videos exploring the historical, architectural and cultural points of interest around Dublin city and is gaining a dedicated following.
He will soon be seen onscreen in the comedy web series ‘McCarthy’ which he co-directed with his frequent collaborator; the award winning director John McCarthy. It will be launching on YouTube in the coming weeks.
