After announcing earlier this year that they had a series based on the brewery family in the works, Netflix has announced that production on "House of Guinness" has kicked off and named a number of cast members too.

Some of the names will be familiar to film and telly buffs, with stars from the likes of "Game of Thrones" and "Normal People," and they’ll be taking on some members of the Guinness family in the 19th century.

Starring as Arthur Guinness (not the founder Arthur) is Belfast native Anthony Boyle who people may recognize from the Apple TV+ series "Masters of the Air" which co-starred Barry Keoghan.

"Game of Thrones" alumni Jack Gleeson and Michael McElhatton will be starring as Byron Hedges and John Potter, respectively. The pair played two ‘villains’ of the popular fantasy series, with Gleeson portraying Joffrey Baratheon and McElhatton as Lord Bolton.

Another familiar face among the cast is "Normal People" star Fionn O’Shea as Benjamin Guinness. The Irish actor has also appeared in the films "Handsome Devil" and as the young Samuel Beckett in "Dance First."

Other cast members include Louis Partridge as Edward Guinness, Emily Fairn as Anne Plunket (nee Guinness), James Norton as Sean Rafferty, Niamh McCormack as Ellen Cochrane, Dervla Kirwan as Aunt Agnes Guinness, Danielle Galligan as Lady Olivia Hedges, David Wilmot as Bonnie Champion, and Hilda Fay as Sultan.

The eight-part series comes from "Peaky Blinders" creator Steven Knight, who said on the cast announcement: "I am thrilled that we have such an exceptional cast and such an exceptional team to tell this story inspired by an exceptional family."

The official synopsis says: "Set in 19th-century Dublin and New York, the story will reimagine the period immediately after the death of Sir Benjamin Guinness, the man responsible for the extraordinary success of the Guinness brewery, and the far-reaching impact of his will on the fate of his four adult children, Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben, as well as on a group of Dublin characters who work and interact with the phenomenon that is Guinness."

Anne Mensah, Netflix Vice President of UK Content added: "We are thrilled to be embarking on this epic and wondrous journey with our partners at Kudos. Steve Knight’s scripts read like pages torn out of a classic novel, spinning the story of the four heirs to the Guinness fortune, and how their lives and loves are changed by it overnight. We cannot wait to see this story come to life through Tom Shankland’s inspired vision and his breathtaking cast."

As it stands, there is no release date for "House of Guinness," but we’ll be ready and waiting when it starts streaming.
