Hozier is set to close out 2024 on a high note when he’s the featured musical guest on "Saturday Night Live" on Saturday, December 21.
The Wicklow native singer-songwriter - real name Andrew Hozier-Byrne - will be the "SNL" musical guest while Martin Short takes on hosting duties on the long-running late-night comedy show.
“Wild way to end this year,” Hozier said on social media on Tuesday. “Can’t wait @nbcsnl.”

Hozier's appearance on "SNL" on December 21 comes more than a decade after he made his debut on the Studio 8H stage - on October 11, 2014, he performed his breakout hit "Take Me To Church" as well as "Angel of Small Death and the Codeine Scene” during the third episode of Season 40, where Bill Hader hosted.
(We can't help but wonder if Hozier will get to flex his funny bone in a sketch this time around...)
It seems "SNL" narrowly missed out on an Irish double headliner this month - Co Kildare actor and "Gladiator II" star Paul Mescal is set to host the show on December 7, just two weeks before Hozier returns to the iconic NYC stage.
Hozier's appearance on "SNL" will come just after he releases his "Unreal Unearth: Unending" deluxe album on December 6. It features a collection of songs from the sessions behind his chart-topping 2023 album "Unreal Unearth," and contains all tracks released around the album from 2022-2024 including the 16 original album tracks plus 10 songs never-before pressed on vinyl including the global smash hit “Too Sweet” and a previously unreleased new track “Hymn To Virgil.”
Australia, it was such a pleasure to be back last week. Thank you for that incredible reception.
Here’s a snippet from the as of yet unreleased “Hymn to Virgil”, which features on the upcoming “Unending” album package. I hope you enjoy it! So much love 🖤

Indeed, Hozier claimed his first-ever number-one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Too Sweet" back in April. It was his first time topping the list, which he had previously reached number two on with "Take Me To Church" in 2014.
Having reached the top of the list this April, Hozier became the first Irish artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 list since 1990. He also topped Billboard's Global 200 the same week.
Despite his success this year, Hozier was snubbed in this year's Grammy nominations (again).
