The Hunger Games trilogy has topped the list for the best-selling series on Amazon.com, beating JK Rowling’s Harry Potter.
"Since debuting in 2008, Katniss Everdeen and the Hunger Games have taken the world by storm, much as Harry Potter did a decade before," Sara Nelson, the editorial director of books and Kindle at Amazon announced on Friday.
"Interestingly, this series is only three books versus Harry Potter's seven, and to achieve this result in just four years is a great testament to both the popularity of the work and, we think, the growth in reading digitally during that time," Nelson added.
Penned by Suzanne Collins, her trilogy The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay are published by Scholastic and each remain on the bestseller lists.
The Lionsgate movie adaptation raked in $155 million in its opening weekend in March.
Starring Jennifer Lawrence as the leading lady, production for the second installment is expected to begin in January 2013.
