SHE spoke fondly of her Irish roots at the recent Top 100 Irish Americans event hosted by our sister publication Irish America magazine - well, as fondly as possible when you throw in a few four letter words! - so it was natural that comic Kathy Griffin would take the next step and make a trip to the old country for herself.

Kathy visited Drogheda in Co. Louth last week with a TV camera in tow - her Irish escapades were filmed for her Bravo series My Life on the D List. She was given a civic reception by Mayor Micheal O'Dowd, and she met up with some probable long lost cousins. (Griffin's maternal grandmother was born in Drogheda, and her dad was from Co. Kerry).

The flame haired comic also took time to pour a pint or two at the city's new D Hotel. The Irish will also get a chance to experience Kathy for themselves, as a couple of Irish cameras were following her around as well.
