The fourth and new season of the hit drama “Sons of Anarchy” came back at full swing, displaying the series’ highest ratings to date.
The gang was at it again and viewers were pleased. Reuteres reports show that the show came out with a total of 4.94 million viewers and 3.22 million of those were adults 18-49. The show gained 20 percent in total viewers and 15 percent in the demographic over last season, which is great news for the show.
Not only was the Irish American drama’s premiere historic for the series but the FX network said the show is also likely to be the most-watched single episode in history, for an FX original series when Live+7 data is available from The Nielsen Company.

The previous high in total viewers for a single episode of the show was season two’s finale, which delivered 4.32 million and the previous high in the demo was 3.03 million for the same season.
The show had 7.25 million total viewers and 4.76 million viewers in the demo, which includes the premiere and two encore runs at 11:30 p.m. and 1 a.m.
The show made its return with a lot of surprises that will leave the audiences wanting more and more at the end of each of the episodes and as the season progresses.
“That's what makes “Sons of Anarchy” such a compelling drama, and one of the better ones on television,” said Tim Surette of TV.com.
“It's an unlikely marriage of crime and violence with respect and familial honor. No other show on television handles that kind of duality in the same way.”
It might just be too soon to tell, but the new season of the Irish drama promises to maintain the viewers’ attention and make this season the most triumphant and groundbreaking of any other show on the FX network.
