My motivation to practice daily varies depending on whether or not I have a feis or performance coming up and what else is going on in my life. When I consistently practice my dancing on a daily basis I see a big difference.
How I'm doing on my Irish dance diet:
Month: 6
Weight: 144
Weight lost: 11 pounds
Muscle gained: 9
Total fat loss: 20
This weekend I attended the Utah Legacy Open Feis (watch for a full article on the feis), the first competition I've been too since I started my Irish dance diet. I felt so much lighter on my feet and my confidence has increased. As an added bonus, I advanced to the champion level of competition, something I've been wanting to do for a long time.
Here are a few of the many benefits you may find if you stick to a practice schedule:
1- Your technique will improve by leaps and bounds (pun intended).
2- You will have more energy to dance and less compulsion to overeat, thus creating a positive cycle.
3- You will learn your dances more quickly and retain them longer--much to your teacher's relief.
4- You will I feel confident in your ability to perform, and shine in front of the judges.
How about you? Do you see a difference when you consistently practice?
