Irish actress Evanna Lynch cast a spell over the audience with her wonderful foxtrot on “Dancing with the Stars.”

The 27th season of “Dancing with the Stars” kicked off on Monday night and the Irish certainly had a lot to be proud of with Co Louth actress Evanna Lynch working her magic on the dancefloor.

Evanna, 27, born and raised in Co Louth, is best known for her roles in the Harry Potter films where she played Luna Lovegood.  She was a Potter junkie while growing up and corresponded with author JK Rowling. The books helped her cope with anorexia, which she battled from the age of 11 for two years.

A committed vegan, Dancing is Evanna’s highest-profile role since her days as Luna, though she did star in a production of Enda Walsh’s Disco Pigs at the Irish Repertory Theatre in New York earlier this year.

On Monday, she performed the foxtrot to "Do You Believe in Magic" (how apt!) alongside her partner, Keo Motsepe.

Some more pictures from tonight ? thank you to all you amazing people for voting and for the super kind and feisty comments! I’m not concerned about the score because I learned something important from the show today and from @keo_motsepe . Right after the performance I was all ☹️☹️ and focusing on my mistakes and the score. Keo turns to me and says ‘Great. A lower score means we have something to fight for and a chance to prove those opinions wrong. Tomorrow we show them what we’re made of’. I literally watched him transform a negative attitude into a positive intention. I realized immediately that I need to get tougher now, and rather than getting in my head and retreating into myself I need to say ‘thank you so much for that feedback, now watch what we do with it...’. That is the work tomorrow, and to me is quite a profound lesson in cultivating a winning mindset. I am so blessed to have such an awesome teacher in this and I cannot wait to bring the ? in tomorrow’s foxtrot! Now I’mma sleep - goodnight!! ? #VoteTeamKevanna #DWTS #foxtrot #letsgo

She may not have wizarded her way into the judge’s good books with only 18 out of 30 points but we thought she was magical.
