In the professional music business the saying is that the show must go on, but for the Cherish the Ladies ensemble, and particularly its leader Joanie Madden, the December Christmas tour will be that much harder to perform.
As we told you last week Joanie's father Joe, very much a musical muse and inspiration for the troupe, suffered a severe fall with crippling injuries that proved insurmountable, and that led to his passing last Friday evening.
It was peaceful and all the family was present and prepared to accept the will of God in taking the 70-year-old Galway immigrant home to his eternal reward.
His memorial services and burial would take place in Westchester this week after my deadline for this week, so we will share some of that and a celebration of Joe Madden's legacy next week.
