Kerry Condon is set to take Hollywood by storm once more as she lands a major role alongside a huge star.
Deadline have reported that the Thurles native is set to star alongside Woody Harrelson in "Giant" - a remake of "Corazón de León."
Marcos Carnevale, who wrote and directed the 2013 original, is set to direct the English language translation, which will undoubtedly be a huge hit for the Irish actress.
The script is by Gonzalo Maza, the Chilean writer who co-wrote "A Fantastic Woman!", garnering it a Best International Film Oscar.
The original Argentinian tale follows a lawyer who faces societal prejudice and her own misgivings when she starts dating a diminutive architect.
Most famous for quiet roles in "Better Call Saul" and "The Banshees of Inisherin," Kerry Condon, it’s set to be a busy year for Condon as she also stars opposite Brad Pitt in Apple TV’s high-octane action thriller, "F1."
But it may surprise many to realise that she is already Ireland’s highest-grossing actress at the box office, thanks to her role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Condon has starred as the voice of Iron Man’s AI assistant F.R.I.D.A.Y. in five Marvel movies, that have grossed more than $8 billion (€7.3 billion) at the box office.
Her films have grossed a combined $8.27 billion at the box office, according to recent findings by the website CSGO Luck.
That puts her fourth overall for Irish acting talent, behind Liam Neeson ($11.6 billion), Michael Gambon ($8.55 billion), and Domhnall Gleeson ($8.38 billion) – the latter two's numbers are bumped up hugely through their involvement in the popular "Harry Potter" franchise.
Speaking about F.R.I.D.A.Y to The Playlist in April of last year, Condon laughed about how, despite her voice sharing many scenes with Robert Downey Jnr – including the famous Ironman death scene, she only recently met him.
"She still lives on in the theme parks and whatnot, but funny enough, I met Robert Downey Jr. only for the first time a few months ago," she revealed.
"It was so wild cause the two of us were like, 'Oh wow,' like, 'I’ve been your sidekick, and we’ve never met until now.' It was really surreal and more funny than anything ’cause I was like, it’s me, I was that voice all the time!"
