Hollywood legend Kevin Spacey wants to play the role of disgraced - and bankrupt - Irish billionaire Sean Quinn in a planned movie.
The screen star is ready to sign on the dotted line for the proposed part with one provision – he gets to make the movie in Ireland.
Producer James Mitchell has already given the green light for the movie on fall from grace of Quinn, once Ireland’s richest man.
Spacey is aware of Quinn’s current battles after the broke Fermanagh businessman ended up in Mountjoy jail in his battle with the former Anglo Irish Bank.
The Irish Sun reports that Spacey is ready to work with Mitchell again after their collaboration on Ordinary Decent Criminal, the movie on the life of Irish gangster Martin Cahill.
The paper reports that two-time Oscar winner Spacey has yet to receive a formal offer to play Quinn but wants the role.
The 53-year-old said: “I love Ireland so any chance to get to work there again, I’ll grab with both hands.”
Spacey did admit that he found the Irish accent a real struggle to master when he was filming Ordinary Decent Criminal in 2000.
He laughed: “I found that the accent was a total bitch to master.
“God, that’s a long time ago but I just remember worshipping the atmosphere, the history and of course, drinking in the company of the world’s finest drinkers.
“Who wouldn’t have an absolute ball there? It’s mandatory. It was a fantastic experience and I’d love to come back and work there again soon.”
