The hat design world is about to get a lot more fascinating.

Lady Gaga, queen of extravagant fashion, is planning to intern for renowned Irish hat designer Philip Treacy.

In a recent interview with the Guardian, the milliner confirmed the rumors that the ‘Born This Way’ singer and he were discussing details for a future internship.

Treacy revealed that the pop star had recently visited him in his London studio –along with several strongly built security guards who thoroughly checked the building to ensure Gaga’s safety—and they talked about Gaga’s future with his company.

The singer who has worn Treacy’s creations on many occasions, including the headpiece worn for the 2010 Grammy Awards, has publicly declared her love and devotion for the designs.

"If you were to ask me to remove my Philip Treacy hat at a party, in truth it is the emotional and physical equivalent of requesting I remove my liver," said the hit maker to V Magazine.

Treacy is the man behind a total of 30 hats worn at Britain’s Royal Wedding in April. The eccentric Princess Beatrice hat caused quite the scandal and he and the princess received major backlash from the fashion critics.

"I felt hurt for her. She is only 22 and there was a little bit of bullying going on," he said, “in the future, we'll look back and think she looked wild.”

He stands by his design and is proud of his abundant involvement in the Wedding. He said that although he didn’t sleep for three days his experience was incredible, “I couldn't be more Irish but I celebrate Britishness through hats.”

Someone as passionate about hats and about uniqueness as he is, might be exactly what this Irish designer needs in his studio—and who better to fill that role than, as he said, the ”young, talented and peculiar—which I like,” Lady Gaga.
