A County Offaly fashion designer said she almost has a “mini heart attack” after learning that Lady Gaga was going to wear one of her designs on the Graham Norton Show on BBC television.

Appearing on the Irish man’s show the New York pop queen told Norton she wore the outfit especially for him.

“It’s a young Irish designer named Sorcha Ó Raghallaigh,” she told Norton.

Birr born designer Sorcha Ó Raghallaigh (26) graduated from London’s first school for fashion Central St Martins last June.

The Irish designers creation was one of three outfits that Gaga wore during her appearance last weekend.

She also designed a black PVC dress that appeared in the opening sequence of Lady Gaga’s global number one hit “Born this way”.

Anna Trevelyan the assistant to Lady Gaga’s stylist scouted the Irish designer after seeing her talent at her graduate show.

The  talented designers garments have already graced the pages of talian Vogue, Vogue Nippon and Dazed & Confused.

She told the Irish Times she was very shocked when she got the call and thought she was going to have “mini heart attack”.

“But then I didn’t have time to do that. Once I’d been given the brief I only had a few hours to get the sketches to her.

“What I do isn’t commercial,” she adds. “I’m into the avant garde, the one-off, and Gaga is the ideal customer.”
