"The Late Late Show" New Year’s Eve special is just around the corner, but will be joining Patrick Kielty as Ireland counts down to 2024?

Sadly for fans of the long-running RTÉ talk show, the "Late Late" didn’t air on Friday December 20 and there will be no show on Friday December 27 as both Patrick and the show’s production team enjoy their Christmas break.

However, viewers won’t have to wait too long for their "Late Late" fix as a 90-minute special episode will air on December 31.

After last year saw Patrick ring in the New Year with the likes of The Tumbling Paddies, Niamh Kavanagh and Roz Purcell, it has been revealed who will be on the pre-recorded special this year.

Leading the line-up is Irish Olympics trio Mona McSharry, Sharlene Mawdsley and Orla Comerford, who all had a summer to remember in Paris.

Mona won the bronze medal in the 100-meter breaststroke at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, while Sharlene was part of Ireland’s 4 x 400m running team and came fourth in the final.

Orla traveled to the French capital a few weeks later for the Paralympic Games, where she picked up a bronze medal in the T13 100m final, eight years after making her Paralympics debut at the 2016 Rio Games at just 18 years old.

"You’re Beautiful" singer James Blunt will be talking to Patrick about how his breakout hit remains massive two decades after its release and he almost had to change his name because of his fans.

Seeking to shine a light on the rising actors Ireland has to offer, "House of the Dragon’s" Clinton Liberty will talk about his major role in the "Game of Thrones’" spin-off series.

If all that wasn’t enough "An Cailín Ciúin’s" Alisha Weir will explain to Patrick why she appeared in the horror flick, "Abigail" and comedian Justine Stafford will bring her eccentric comedy to the studio.

Providing music on the night are the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, The Undertones and Picture This. However, there’s no word if someone will give Raglan Road a go.

Once the special is over, RTÉ will be bringing viewers inside the celebrations at Dublin Castle for Cian Ducrot’s Countdown Concert.

The Late Late Show New Year’s Eve special airs at 10.20pm on New Year’s Eve at 10.20pm.
