The Irish Claddagh ring has become a symbol of love worldwide through its simple message of love, loyalty, and friendship.
Originating in the Co. Galway town of Claddagh, the ring’s symbol of a heart, hand of friendship and crown of loyalty are believed to have been created by goldsmith Richard Joyce in the 17th century, who presented the design to his loved one when he returned to Ireland after spending time in indentured servitude. The name Claddagh itself comes from the Irish word “claddach” meaning “shore” which describes the scenic location of the old fishing village.
With over three centuries of history behind this beautiful message, the IrishCentral store has a wide collection of Claddagh rings perfect for showing your love this Valentine’s Day.
We previously looked at the Claddagh available for women from those set with stones to more simple versions in silver and gold. Today is the turn of the men, however, as we look at the best designs available in the IrishCentral store.
