Irish American Minka Kelly rejoined Peter Berg, her director for “Friday Night Lights,” to help create his conceptual vision for Maroon 5’s “One More Night.”
"The [story behind her involvement] was Pete reaching out to her and saying, 'Hey, do you want to do this?' and her saying 'Yes,' and us saying, 'Thank you!',” Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine told MTV News.
Levine’s video persona, a gritty boxer, strains to find time to spend with his wife, Kelly, and baby while also providing for them through his violent performance in the ring.
Berg and Levine devised the concept together to be more of an “indie film” than Maroon 5’s previous “blockbuster” music video for “Payphone,” which begins with Levine standing in front of a burning car.
In “One More Night,” Kelly’s character initially prepares a steak for her husband and cuddles with their baby. But of course, this is Maroon 5, and family life can’t stay quite that simple.
